Name: Lyssa

Interests: Playing the piano is probably my most favorite past time ever. I really like to sing too, even though I'm not really good at it. I sing in the shower, in the car, at home, when I play piano, and I even sing to people when they're sad. It usually makes them sadder but that's all right. Also, I really like Spanish. I'm going to Spain in the summer and that'll be really neat. Yeah, you and me, Kelsey Bodlak. Hmmm....I also like watching football, chick flicks, stupid movies, and especially scary movies. Plus, I like hanging out and being stupid with my best friends ever Cassandra and Emily. They are just great. I also run track.
Expertise: I love the piano. I'm emotional. I love God. I'm hypocritical. I genuinely care about people. I'm ignorant. I'm oblivious. I hate politics. I'm confident. I'm gullible. I make friends easily. I cry more than you think. I don't like my legs. I think I'm pretty. People influence me. I'm happy.

Lol, it has been a long time, eh?

I don't really know how much I'm going to be on here from now on.  I have Trig, English Honors, Spanish IV, work, and a LIFE!!!

So, yeah.

I don't really know what to tell you all.

I'll leave you with this, I suppose.

10 days until Christmas!!!!  I'm so excited.

So my classes have been fun for the most part.  Chem is so awesome.  All we ever really do is watch funny things that people send her via email and do labs and mess around.  Take yesterday, for example.  We cleaned out our equipment for the lab final (which is going to take FOREVER...14 hours?) and Mrs. Distockam said that we couldn't have pipet wars.  So naturally, we all took out our pipets and began to squirt each other.  Emily came up behind me and said my name.  I turned around, and she got me.  It was all fun and games until Kaleb Todd decided to get me really bad.  He took a handful of bubbles and came up behind me and said my name.  Apparently I don't learn very quickly because I turned around again to find myself facing a huge handful of bubbles.  Kaleb smothered them all over my face.  Emily and I decided to get him back, so she took an equally huge handful of bubbles and put them all over Kaleb's neck.  He began to chase her, and she ran to the door and attempted to go out.  Alas, this did not work all too well.  Her hand slipped on the doorknob and seeing as how she couldn't stop, she ran smack into the door.  It was really really really funny.  I love that class so much.  And today we went caroling.  That was awesome.  I'm going to miss that class.

Today in American History we decided to have a "scholar's bowl" tomorrow on the Vietnam War.  Rankins divided us up into two teams: the Democrats and the Commies.  I was a Democrat.  Emily was a Commie (yes, the very same Emily who so gracefully ran into the door yesterday).  I was making a lovely poster for our team (we made all sorts: "Better dead than red!"  "Dale COMMUNIST Owen, go use your own Communist bathroom", "D- "<---that is a fence, and "Get out of Mao Way.") The stupendous poster I was making read, "Go home, Commie" or something to that extend and little Ms. Emily came and marked all over it with a purple marker.  I was a little upset by this and attacked her.  With a red marker.  Red stands for Communism.  And she got me back with orange.  And we had lots of fun.  I won.

Band is band.  We had our concert, though!!!  It went really really really well.  Except for the part where we all messed up Patapan.  And when I dropped my flute.  But it's ok.  I had fun.  We had marching band awards given out, and flutes got 5 out of 8 (I think) of them.  I was really proud.  And our section got "Band is my Life" award.  Jani and I went up and got it and I was excited.  And then we had punch afterwards and Cassandra and I got ice-cream.  Tomorrow we're not doing anything.  I'll probably end up playing Beggar Your Neighbor with Emily and Adam and Gregg.

Spanish III is none too exciting.  Except we watched the funniest video.  It was made in Mexico (I'm guessing an independent film) and it was just really bad.  The actors tried, but that almost made it worse.  It had a good message, though.  It's the Hispanic equivalent to A Christmas Carol.  But we're not doing anything else (that I know of) in that class, so that's just fine with me.

And Cassandra got all 10 seasons of Friends for Christmas.  I'm very excited about that.

The end.

My brother was in an accident today on the way to school.  He was on an overpass and his truck started to spin out of control.  He's ok, his back and neck hurt.  So everybody really needs to be careful driving out there.  The roads are slick and stuff.

I stayed up until 1 finishing my stupid American History paper.  I finally fell asleep at 2, but it was one of those nights in which one can't really remember if they've slept or not....like you look at the clock and it says 2:24, and the next time you look at it it says 3:55, but you don't really feel like you've slept and you don't remember falling asleep.  I was really tired today, but not grumpy! (right Em?)

My sister drove the van into the fridge in the garage yesterday.  It was so funny....she was helping my dad outside and my dad asked her if she wanted to drive the van into the garage.  She said ok, and carefully drove the van into the garage.  Our van is automatic, so you don't exactly have to press the gas to go.  So it pulled slowly into the garage, and she didn't know the gas from the brake (she's 12), and hit the gas.  The van zoomed forward into the fridge.  We don't have an outside fridge anymore.  It's totally busted.

That's it.

Well, I'm not going to be here for awhile.  I'm going to Nebraska for Thanksgiving with my family minus Jesse.  This will be the first Thanksgiving I've ever had without him.  Consequently, I shall be a bit depressed.  But I suppose I will just have to get used to it.

<-a preview of my face when we leave without him.

I will be back on Saturday, so anybody that wants to hang out or whatever...give me a call.

Last night my family (including Jess) went and saw Mannheim Steamroller live!!!!

It was so cool.  I love their music so much.

That's all I really have to say.  But I'll leave you with this quote.

"Music is the picture of sound painted on a background of silence."

Heh.
